08 Mar Patterned protection plates
Arguably not the best photo we’ve taken of a piece of our sheet metal work, but we had to take a quick photo before this panel left the factory.
Using our automated punching machine, we were able to produce a metal bumper plate for an information kiosk for Gatwick Airport. The machine had to punch rapidly the metal to form the dimple effect you can see in the photograph. A job you would associate more with our sister company, Constant Engineering as their specialists in kickplates, but this was for an existing client, and involve a few non-standard fittings on the reverse so it could be affixed to the kiosk.
The dimple patterned plates are ideal for high-footfall areas such as airports, as they will easily disguise any dents/kicks or general mistreatment they may experience in their lifetime. Supplied with hemmed edges for safety, and fixing holes, these little plates are on their way to the airport for installation.
