16 Oct Press Release: Constant’s Digital Overhaul
Summer 2016 not only saw champions win gold, but Constant Group Ltd www.constantgroup.co.uk, sheet metal fabricators from Oldham, completed its digital overhaul of their suite of brands including flagship companies, Constant Manufacturing (sheet metal manufacturing) and Constant Engineering (architectural ironmongery fabrication). Constant have invested heavily in time, staff and technology to bring their brands to life as part of a group wide digital overhaul, online and on-site.
Constant have championed the use of new and upcoming media in promoting the businesses from the introduction of their Digital Factory Tour, guiding visitors around their 32,000ft2 factory to the monthly interactive ‘How it’s Made’ case studies on Constant Manufacturing; documenting from brief to assembly, the full sheet metal manufacturing processes of products they are commissioned to fabricate.
“The digital makeover has led to a significant, and noticeable, increase in enquiries and project tender wins with customers regularly complementing our ‘How It’s Made’ videos and articles.” commented Matt Garlick, Managing Director of Constant Group Ltd.
Matt continues, “We took the decision to overhaul our static websites by making them engaging, responsive in design and up-to-date through case studies, news, articles and integrating it with active and engaging social media and email marketing. We consider our websites and digital marketing routes as effective and engaging online salesmen, rather than a business card landing page!
“With an experienced digital marketing team, our brands such as Tuffboxes and Constant Lighting are able to design and manufacture a new product, test it, document it and launch it within weeks, not months, and without relying on third party software or agencies to launch it for us.”
The digital makeover started with the appointment of a Digital Marketing Manager in 2014, tasked originally to devise and implement a suite of user friendly and content-rich websites, with the main aim to attract new business, alongside developing existing contracts through engagement with different digital mediums.
Operations Manager, David Gilligan added, “It’s safe to say the digital overhaul isn’t limited to our six websites anymore. Effective use of new technology and cloud computing is enabling us to complete our ISO accreditation this Autumn, introduce new manufacturing process software E2i and provide a range of staff with a flexible remote working environment.
“We’ve consciously invested heavily in new IT operational infrastructure, which allowed us to facilitate digital and technological growth and to pave the way to develop the business further and therefore offer an effective lean manufacturing offering to new and existing customers.”
The completion of the digital overhaul was marked with the launch of the group’s top tier website, www.constantgroup.co.uk. The new flagship website coincides with Constant’s inclusion in the next edition of a book documenting family businesses in Oldham, due out at the end of September. The article highlights the growth and business change from sheet metal stock traders in 1970, to one of the North West’s largest British sheet metal fabricators, on-site and now on-line.
