Speed Cutting with the new Fibre Laser Cutter

Our new ByStronic fibre laser cutter, installed earlier this year, has been put through its paces with the CAD design and production team recently utilising the machine’s fly out functionality.

Instead of the laser cutter, cutting each square out individually, it basically just does the top line of the square, jumps to the next square and cuts that square top line, and so on.

Once it has done the horizontal lines, it switches to the verticals. With the same precision, accuracy and speed. We are then left with perfect cut squares, with over 900 squares cut per panel, with all five panels cut in approximately 18 minutes. This is versus the 40 minutes the software estimates if the squares were all cut one-by-one vs a fly cut operation.

It’s an impressive sight to watch!
