Utilising skills of our engineering team, the experience of our press brake supervisors and time-served operation staff can lead to innovation and efficient manufacturing processes. A fantastic example of this process is a recent air-conditioning panel that involves some unusual forms, which are then inserted with a particularly robust threaded fastener.
The pieces are first cut on our TruPunch 3000 CNC punching machine, including all forms including the raised ‘dimple’ like form in the metal. Once the galvanised steel is cut, it is sent to the press brakes for the threaded fastener to be inserted. You won’t be wrong thinking ‘why the press brake?’ and not a Permsertter machine or such like device.
Our suite of new Bystronic press brakes have unbelievable force pressure, which you can expect since it can bend thick sheets of metal! The press brake is also used to force and press threads into metalwork with a range of unique tooling such as this project.
The results are clean inserted threads into the air conditioning panels.
The finished panel, complete with standard bends, is not destined for any powder coating, but simple tidy up in the grinding department. After which it is packaged and delivered to our customer on the outskirts of Greater Manchester.
